Since its foundation as a General Agency in 1933, Aeolos Cyprus Travel Bureau became thirteen years later, on June 1, 1946, the very first Travel Agency of the island, even before Cyprus had a National Carrier of its own. On 1st June 1961 Aeolos was appointed General Sales Agent for Swissair, and since then has gone from strength to strength. As pioneers in this important business sector, AEOLOS has made a significant contribution toward the development of the island's tourism, its own growth matching that of the tourist industry. In order to cater for the multitude of travel and tourist requirements, Aeolos Group runs no less than 10 offices strategically located in all parts of Cyprus and manned by over 200 experienced and skilled permanent personnel. Additionally the company employs scores of temporary staff to cater for seasonal needs. Under the umbrella of AEOLOS there is a group of eight core activities, each one specializing in different aspects of the business, namely, airport ground handling, cargo clearing and forwarding, sightseeing excursions, tours, hotel investment and management as well as air, land and sea travel.
