Amalthia Trading Ltd is a family business owned by “ANDREAS S. AGROTIS 'ASA' LTD†& “N. PAPAPNICOLIS LTD†with an equal 50% share. Both companies have been in the fruit and vegetable business since 1940. In 1992, the second generation of these two companies, Managing Directors Bambos Agrotis and Chris Papanicolaou, joined forces and established Amalthia. Their initial vision at that time was to maximize the produce selection of Cyprus by importing top quality fresh fruit and vegetables. Amalthia started with low import levels concentrating on standard products such as apples and pears. Today, the company is the largest imports distributor in the island of Cyprus offering a vast array of products and supplying a wide variety of produce traders including wholesale markets, hypermarkets, supermarkets, small and medium grocery stores, cruise ships, hotels and restaurants. Amalthia has a strong global presence and has earned great respect from its suppliers and customers. In 2007, the 3rd generation has joined Amalthia, complimenting the company's traditional values with fresh ideas for future success.
