Zako Cyprus

The history of Zako goes back to 1946 with the opening of the first ZAKO store in Ermou Street in Nicosia, which specialised in haberdashery products. The company's development was rapid both in the retail trade and in the distribution of exclusive products, in particular in the haberdashery, lingerie, swimwear, hosiery and accessory ranges. It is the only company in Cyprus that successfully operates the concept of "Franchising" of its products for over 25 years, supplying 40 ZAKO stores throughout Cyprus on an exclusive basis. In January 1996, the WOOLWORTH group acquired 51% of ZAKO's share capital and later the remaining 49%.
