Cyprus has adopted the Acquis Communautaire which concerns consumer protection with the main objective to ensure that the Cypriot consumer enjoys the same high level of consumer protection and safety as exists in the European Union.
The European Union has established numerous Networks which help in the extrajudicial resolution of cross-border disputes by European citizens/consumers/businesses. Cyprus has taken an obligation to establish these Nets as from 1 May 2004.
