Simplex is an established company offering Consulting, Web and Internet Services, Data Center Services and Infrastructure Services. Among others, Simplex is a partner of leading vendors such as HP, CISCO, Microsoft Partner, Symantec and many others.

- The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, testing and maintenance/support of applications and solutions for both in-house and client use. Technologies to use include Java web and enterprise technologies including JSPs, Servlets, Java Server Faces (JSF), Enterprise Java Beans, Java Persistence API (JPA) and web services. Development will take place in a Windows environment using NetBeans IDE for coding and Subversion (SVN) for version control while a Linux/Unix environment with either Glassfish or Tomcat is used for deployment. MySQL is the primary RDBMS used. Occasionally, it might be required to work with other technologies too such as PHP, Visual Basic/VBA, etc.
- Self-motivation, initiative, hard work, analytical thinking and excellent problem solving capabilities are core qualities that the successful candidate should possess.
- The person selected will need to meet with project stakeholders, including customers and partners, and thus, good interpersonal and communicational skills (Greek & English) are important.
- Due to having customers at different timezones, it might be necessary to work during out of normal office hours upon short or no notice.
- The Java developer will work closely with other staff of the company within the same or other departments and thus, team spirit is required.

- University/college degree in Computing
- Experience in Enterprise Java development using JSPs, Servlets, Java Server Faces (JSF), Enterprise Java Beans, Java Persistence API (JPA) and web services.
- Knowledge of PrimeFaces API and Glassfish server will be considered an advantage.
- Excellent knowledge of frontend technologies like HTML, CSS, AJAX and JavaScript
- Previous experience with NetBeans or similar IDE (e.g. Eclipse) and Subversion (SVN) or similar version control system will be considered an advantage
- Ability to work in both Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems and possess basic administration skills for each
- Experience with PHP/MySQL based solutions and knowledge of PHP MVC frameworks like Yii, odeIgniter, CakePHP, Zend, etc. will be considered an advantage
- Good knowledge of SQL and RDBMS principles
