Analyst + software testing
Worked as an analyst and economist. Besides economic functions at the position I did different sorts of testing. Because we had inner software which is used by me and my colleagues specially for our needs so each new release needed to be tested by me. Since the software product was very complicated development company did not fully understand what we needed in out software and they could not fully test it. So I tested each new version of product before the whole our company begging to use it since I had some testing experience I had to do that. In other words I did acceptance testing.
• Wrote test cases for functional testing;
• Made traceability matrix;
• Did black box testing;
• Usually tested at the level of acceptance testing knowing requirements very well;
• Read technical documentations, specifications and business documentations;
• Used different test design techniques - Boundary value analysis, Equivalence Partitioning Testing etc.;
• Wrote bug reports, communicated to developers;
• Participated in the discussions and decision-making process to improve the product in new versions;
• Checked databases using Oracle SQL Developer;
• Wrote SQL statements. Used commands: select, join, update, insert into, delete, create table, drop table, а так же like, order by, having, between, and, or.
Also I worked with the massive economic data to make reports and different sorts of analyses. Used MS Excel (Macros, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, COUNTIF etc.) and SQL Developer. I worked with the documentation. Mostly I checked (tested) existence and correctness of all banking documents and blank those necessaries according the law.
I was active in the discussion and at the making decision process of new features, improvements and acceptance testing of the inner software that the whole company used in the work.

Software tester
I worked in a telecommunication company. It’s “Moscow City Telephone Network”. Tested more than 20 different programs and applications that provide the whole business process to work. Because of the wide range of services that the company offers in the market, different programs have been created in different time and each one of them has to be integrated into the system. This is the reason why the test coverage is much bigger which consequently makes more workload for testing as well as regression testing.
Examples of the programs and applications I used to test at the job: The personal user account, service requests, send requests contractors, print monthly invoices for customers, Checking technical services connectivity (for example, the service "Internet in an apartment" has several connectivity options: ADSL, FTTB, PON, ISDN, etc.) and other.
I was responsible for testing, bug report writing, retesting after bug fixing. I was also connected to the developers because of different questions and difficulties, making sure the software works right or how it has to work in the situations when it wasn’t described in the documentation.
• Tested over 20 web/desktop applications using model-based testing. These test cases are mostly positive because it’s inner software which is expected to be used by professionals;
• Regression testing. Component and Integration testing. GUI testing;
• Actualized test cases if it is necessary. The test cases usually have 20 – 50 up to 100 steps to reproduce;
• Functional testing. {black box};
• API testing using SoapUI (5.0 version). Saw into, edited and insert data into request XML, and analyzed the response {grey box testing}. In Soap I used different WSDL depending on testing app;
• Made test Suits and test Cases in SoapUI. Actually made automated test cases using this GUI tool.
• Saw into and used backend data to test. Comparing expected and actual results {white box testing};
• Tested search and advanced search forms, and forms of new requests (for company’s services) and fields of exciting requests using traceability matrix. For example: new request form had 14 different types (columns of the matrix) and 49 fields (rows of the matrix). Exciting request form had 14 different types and 82 fields for each one of them;
• Used bug tracking system - Microsoft Test Manager (Team Foundation Server);
• Worked with databases. Used Oracle SQL Developer and SQL Server Management Studio 2012;
• Saw into and HTML code. Used Microsoft Visual Studio 2010;
• Read documentations and specifications using «Сonfluence» environment (Atlassian Documentation);
• Was taught of inner software systems and programs;
• Reported of my work to my manager weekly.

Learning Projects of Testing
-
The biggest project I was on is the testing of orbitz.com (research, plan and book travel). I created automated test cases using Selenium WebDriver (Eclipse) / Java.
What I wrote were positive test cases to compare the cheapest flights for different destinations and dates. Actually I wrote the commands the meaning of which was:
• Run the browser. Open the website;
• Find the element by id, name or xpath. Click or type (sendKeys) something;
• Fine another element and do the same (for example: departure and arrival airport, date of flight and return);
• Go to the result of the search page;
(Get.Text)System.out.println. – select the result (in this case it would be the cheapest price) and close the browser.
• Knowledge of: Java, HTML CSS, SQL.
-
While I had learning and freelance projects I tested web and mobile applications. Wrote test cases and bug reports.
I tested mobile apps on iPad for
• Wal-Mart Stores
• eshopex.com
Tested web apps for:
• amazon.com
• nba.com
• yoox.com
