Role Description
Actively involved in assisting, the Hotel General Manager to ensure the safe and healthy operation of the Hotel.
Reporting to the General Manager, any maintenance issues and taking the necessary steps to a fast and consistent response.
Producing and updating, Fire Safety and Health and Safety, risk assessments.
Keeping Log Books, and documentation up to date.
Ensuring, with hands on approach, the organization of the Maintenance Team daily tasks, the company PPM program for the Hotel and introducing the necessary changes to adapt it to the Hotel specificities.
Planning and updating a rotation of decoration tasks in order to keep the Hotel presentation to the best standards.
Ensuring the training and development of the team.
Assisting the Company Property Director whilst major refurbishment programs occur in the Hotel.
Keeping a tight control of HVAC plant rooms, electrical and water systems.
Major Achievements in the Role:
28 rooms had hot water problems, since the Hotel opening in October 2007, due to return valves closed and one hot water return pump burnt out, resolved.
The Fire Book wasn’t up to date and the fire alarm call point, fire extinguishers and emergency lighting, fire doors lists didn’t match the existing in the Hotel, resolved.
Several fire doors were missing fire strips or had other defects, this was reported to the GM and action taken to ensure the repairs by the Builder Contractor, works going on.
Cleaning and verification of all plant rooms.
The plant rooms weren’t fitted with the proper fire extinguishers and safety signage, resolved.
The main plant room that provides hot water and heating for most of the Hotel it’s not up to date even after a major refurbishment.
There aren’t timers to switch on and off the heating, which means that’s not possible to adjust the hours of usage leading to waste of energy, also the heating for the SPA pool isn’t in a dedicated circuit which causes that the Hotel heating only can be switched off partially.
The heating circuits aren’t compensated causing more usage of energy.
Quotes for the necessary alterations have been obtained and are under appreciation.
A decoration schedule is in place and is regularly updated.
Stables SPA opening, all issues regarding fire, water systems, and pool plant have been dealt with or forwarded to obtain approval.
A complete snagging list of the Hotel and Spa is in place and updated.
